Author Overview

Deepti has always believed in the power of the pen. Having done her post graduation in English Literature and her B.Ed. in English, she had the option of teaching and writing, and did both with great enjoyment. She started writing at the age of ten, long before she acquired a Diploma in Journalism.  In 2002, her light-hearted book, ‘Arms and the Woman’, depicting life as seen through the eyes of an Army wife, was published by Rupa Publishers, Delhi. This was written mainly to reveal the warmth and camaraderie within the great organization.  Deepti’s second book was a book of poems titled Deeparadhana. She has also contributed to the anthologies '21 Tales to Tell', 'Upper Cut', 'A Little Chorus of Love', 'Tonight's the Night', 'Once Upon a Time- a Mystery Anthology', 'The Second Life', 'Mango Chutney', 'Grandpa's Tales' and 'The Naked Indian Woman' and Readomania’s 'Chronicles of Urban Nomads', 'Rudraksha', 'Crossed and Knotted', 'Defiant Dreams', 'When They Spoke' and 'Chronicles of Urban Nomads'. She has also contributed to various editions of Chicken Soup. In 2016, Readomania published 'Shadow in the Mirror', a psychological thriller, which was well received. 2020, the COVID-19 year, saw her bringing out 'Where Shadows Follow - Tales that Twist and Turn', an anthology of thriller short stories, and four short volumes of 'Classic Tales from the Panchatantra'. At the moment she is working on a book of of stories from Shakespeare. Deepti's blog, Deep Ties, allows her the freedom to write on any topic and any genre that she cares to delve into, be it poetry, humour, short stories, poetry or non fiction. Deepti lives in Thrissur with her husband, Col. Gopi Menon after their daughter got married and moved to South Africa.
