Welcome Guest
Contest

It is a season of memories. Readomania has launched a wonderful collection of short stories by Amrita Mukherjee, Museum of Memories

And we are celebrating the launch with this contest.

We all have memories to share, memories about people, places, events and things. Yes things, and sometimes of things close to us. We are sure that all you Readomaniacs have your share of memories with your favourite things too, we mean with your favourite books too!

Bingo! That is what we are looking for. So, pick up your writing pads, laptops, phones, tabs, scribble pads and jot down a #FlashFiction around your memories with books. BUT, there is a twist, the story has to be about your dearest memory around any book and you must make a fictional story out of it!

Exciting, Isn't it?

What needs to be done?

Write a story in less than 1000 words around the theme mentioned above and submit it on Readomania, through the contest page. Click on PARTICIPATE NOW.

Remember,

  • The story can be inspired by real life incidences but should be fictional about your earliest memory with a book.
  • The story can be in any genre – horror, humour, memoir, fantasy (but should feature a book from the narrator’s past).
  • All stories would need to be submitted on Readomania.com via author account. If you dont have one, create it.
  • Participants should select the category of Flash Fiction while submitting the story.
  • Word Count – 1000 words.
  • Last Date of Submission – 10-May-2017
  • While all the submitted stories would be available for reading only winning entries will be featured on Readomania.
  • Tags to use – #Readomania, #WorldBookDay, #LoveforBooks, #MuseumofMemories

India is going through a transformation, one that is socially driven, economically empowered and sometimes, politically motivated. Such is the impact of this transformation that the normal person on the street is running helter-skelter to make some sense out of the chaos around him.

MockTales is an attempt to help that normal man make sense of this chaos, using Satire, Sarcasm and Irony.

Write a fictional story (and not an essay) that brings out your take on what is wrong and what is right in our country and how you see the world. You may pick up any aspect from the transformation India is going through, be it changes in political ideologies or the formidable state of media, be it the presence of law or the absence of it, be it the rise of student movements or that of nepotistic submissions, or any other subject that you feel is important. The only rule is to use SATIRE, SARCASM and IRONY.

So go to your writing desks and craft something unique, something special and something that is relevant. This is your chance of being heard! This is your moment.

What needs to be done?

Write a story, and submit it on Readomania, through the contest page. Click on PARTICIPATE NOW
