I am an Author and IT Consultant best known for my acclaimed short stories in the #1 Amazon Bestseller ‘Chronicles of Urban Nomads’ and #2 Amazon Bestseller ‘21 Tales to Tell’. I hold a bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, and have completed a course in Education Technology from SDSU, California.
I was conferred with the title of ‘IBM Accredited Professional’ in 2010 for my knowledge, skills, and contribution to my profession. I am also an active member and past Division Governor of Toastmasters International (TMI) – a non-profit educational organization headquartered in Santa Anna, California, with 292,000 members across 122 countries. In 2013 I was awarded with the greatest honor by TMI - ‘Distinguished Toastmaster’ for demonstration of outstanding leadership and communication skills. This made me the first person ever from Kolkata to win this award.
My writing career found wings in January 2014, when I won a nationwide Social Short Story Contest organized by Chennai Literary Festival and debuted as a contributing author in the anthology of short stories ‘21 Tales to Tell’. Since then, I have been published in ‘Upper Cut - a change India Initiative’, ‘Chronicles of Urban Nomads’ and ‘Her Story: Is Not Always a Story’. I have also contributed to India’s first composite novel – ‘Crossed and Knotted’, releasing on 31st January.
I also love listening to music, binge watching my favorite TV Shows, and watching movies. I love reviewing films from time to time and have had my reviews of Indian films films ‘Kahaani’, ‘Chander Pahar’, ‘Aiyyaa’, ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya’, ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, ‘2 States’, ‘Ek Villain’ ‘Bang Bang’, ‘Barfee’ and ‘Haider’ chosen amongst the film’s most useful reviews on International Movie Database (IMDB) by its members worldwide.
I live in a matriarchal joint family in Kolkata and look forward to touching hearts through my writing. I am currently in the prcess of editing my debut novel ‘What if…?’ This part dramatic thriller & part fantasy adventure set in post World War II India and England and will be releasing in the summer of 2015.
