Debapriya started her career as a broadcaster for Akashvani Kolkata, as a western music presenter, hosting Noon show and Night Flight programmes for AIR FM. Simultaneously, she worked as a Guest Lecturer of Communicative English at Gokhale Memorial Girls' College. Post her marriage, she joined Greenage Montessori House, run by the family. She founded Bloomfield Kids Club, the first of its kind in Kolkata, where children played and learnt music, art, yoga and dance, without feeling the pressure to perform. Debapriya went on to teach English in Modern High School for Girls and La Martiniere for Boys, Kolkata. In 2015, she restored a heritage building and began Ghoshbaari, a heritage venue for weddings, exhibitions and other social events. She also tutors students at home.
