Author Overview

I do not know when or how I began writing. During my college days, it started quite casually—purely for my own joy. Pouring the ebb and flow of my thoughts onto paper, conversing with myself, and revisiting my written lines from time to time to find solace—this has always been a deeply personal and soulful experience for me. Something similar continued over the years—whenever an emotion surfaced, life took a new turn, or relationships revealed an unspoken facet, words found their own form. Sometimes I called these words poetry; at other times, the voice of my heart. Whenever I recited my writings to my mother, she would listen with great affection and say, “You write beautifully, my child—it touches the heart.” At that time, I never imagined that these lines would one day take the shape of a book. But when my loved ones read them and said, “This feels like my own thoughts—my eyes welled up,” I realized that perhaps my emotions were not mine alone, and that they deserved to reach others too. Then one day, quite by chance, one of my poems was published in Kadambini magazine. Letters from readers followed—someone wrote, “Your words touched my heart,” while another said, “You expressed what we often feel but struggle to articulate.” During my college years, my poems were appreciated in several competitions, and some even received awards. A few of my works were also published in reputed literary magazines such as Sahitya Amrit. These experiences were not only encouraging but also instilled in me the belief that writing was not merely an inward journey—it was also a powerful medium to connect with others. Life, however, moved at a fast pace—studies, work, family, responsibilities. Writing did pause at times, but it never truly stopped. I was given opportunities to speak and present at social, familial, and professional forums—from Women’s Day to Independence Day—and the appreciation I received kept the inner flame alive. Along the way, I also realized that when sincere and positive thoughts are shared, they can illuminate someone’s life and make their journey a little easier. The encouragement from both sides of my family has been the greatest strength of this journey. In transforming these emotions into a book, my two mothers and my life partner have played an invaluable role. Whenever I wrote, they stood by me like true guides. My husband not only supported me at every step but continuously motivated, encouraged, and reassured me—“Give life to this collection; let it reach people.” Often, despite our best intentions, obstacles surround us—but when one has a life partner who is even more enthusiastic about your dreams and happiness than you are, every destination feels attainable. And my mother—she was present in every word, accompanying me as a source of constant inspiration. After losing her to cancer six years ago, my writing gained a new depth. Her memories, courage, smile, and guidance have found their way into every line.
