I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure the house was perfect, just in case someone came over until I realized one day that no one was ever gonna come over, they were all out living their lives and having fun.

And now when people do visit me I don’t have to explain the condition of my home anymore, as they are more interested in hearing about things I have been doing while I was away living life and having fun.

The crux of this is, “life is short, so enjoy it, dust it if you must but it would be better to paint a picture or write a letter, bake some cookies, lick a chocolate spoon, plant a seed… Dust if you must, but there is not much time…. So drink some wine, swim some rivers, climb some mountains, listen to music, dance in the wilderness, read some books, cherish your time with family and friends”

Dust if you must, but the world is out there with the sun in your eyes, wind in your hair, flutter of snow, a shower of rain… remember this day and time will not come again.

Dust if you must, but keep in mind, old age will come and it’s never kind, and when you go and go you must, you, yourself will become dust.

It is not what you gather in life, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Remember always, “ A layer of dust protects the Wood beneath it”
