Twist in the tale…

JESSICA MAGNUS.

The name ran inside my head like a marquee tag, again and again, burning my insides. I didn't expect her to be the one, but the chances were high for her to be the suspect. Why? Why would she? If not her, then who could it be? Aah!, my head. It hurts… She reminded me of those painful memories that I never wanted to remember, those are the memories from my college days.

Dhilip was confused as he heard me muttering her name. It was his time to look at me then, for me to say something. With expectations in his eyes, he was looking at me to say more. But I was coupled with confusion and anger. If it was going to be her, I might become mad, very mad indeed. I was lost in my own thoughts, saying nothing, to Dhilip.

We were again in his car. I was speechless. Dhilip often glanced at me, trying to get some hints out of my reactions. I knew he was expecting me to talk more about the name I referred earlier that day. But I kept quiet. I didn't want to talk about her because what happened during my college days was a pure nightmare. I didn't like to remember those horrid times, because I had already put those behind me.

We reached my home. I stepped out and started towards the door without a word to Dhilip. He understood my state of mind and started his car saying, “Call me when you are free. Let’s meet at Thiruvanmiyur RTO's office on Monday.” I gestured my agreement, but still couldn't reply. I just stepped into my house.

I sat on my couch. I was hurt, confused and was going crazy by the turn of events. "What the hell is happening to me? ARGHHHH!!!!"

 I actually shouted out.

 My sister came rushing towards me at once, out of the kitchen. I saw the look of concern and worry on her face. I gave her a nod to tell her that I was okay. With a confused expression on her face she went back into the kitchen. I sat back and tried to relax. The fluttering door curtain tickled my face, which made me turn towards the window. There I saw the photo of ‘The Four Friends’, me, Aasha, Jessica and Ashwin.

Ashwin, my second best pal after Dhilip. I knew him only during the college days, yet we forged a thick bond of friendship. Together we had a great time. In fact, his friendship helped me find my love, Aasha. Ashwin and Aasha were childhood friends like Dhilip and me. But they were entirely different, not only in their gender, but also in their characteristics.

But the thing is not about them, its about Jessica Magnus.

To know about Jessica Magnus, I should rewind to my past. Only then I can arrange my thoughts and reload all those happenings in my mind. So, it’s time now to tell you my past;

My college days…..
