Sourin Bhattacharya is an author, public servant, and academician. He has been serving in a substantive capacity as a Motor Vehicles Inspector at the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal since 2019. He is also an Ex-Officio Member of the City Level Implementation Committee constituted under the National Clean Air Programme at Barrackpore Municipality. In addition, he has been a Guest Faculty at the School of Illumination Science, Engineering and Design, Jadavpur University since 2025 teaching the course 'Indoor Lighting Design'. Academically, he was conferred the degrees of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal in 2016 and Master of Technology (M.Tech.) by Jadavpur University in 2019. He registered as a Research Scholar in the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree course offered by the School of Illumination Science, Engineering and Design, Jadavpur University in 2025. He has conducted research germane to Illumination Engineering and has published thirteen articles in peer-reviewed journals of repute to date. As a poet and litterateur, he published one volume of Bengali poetry in 2018 entitled 'Draghimavrosto Bornomala' and has written poems and short stories in various literary and periodical publications. In public life, he espouses the causes of Nomocracy, Constitutionalism, and Sustainable Development.
