I was on a solo trip to Mcleodganj. After spending two whole days in the Dalai Lama Temple and School of Reasoning...one fine evening I decided to visit a restrobar to have some drinks. I ended up in a cafe called 'Indique Cafe'. It was all full. I was searching for a table when I noticed somebody waving at me. I went closer...and there was a guy waving at me. He offered me to accompany him since he was sitting alone and I said 'Oh-kay'. We started talking over the drinks. I got to know that he was from Israel. We gelled really well and did not notice that we chatted for almost 3 hours and were badly drunk by the end.

All that I remember about the night is that I was really drunk, and I mistakenly broke the pint my Israeli friend was having and started crying, all the while apologising to the pint I had just broken—not to my friend, mind you!

We were asked to leave the place at 2 a.m. though we haggled with the manager for two more pints before leaving. Then finally, we managed to get downstairs and started walking on the street.  At some point we found a homeless dude who we gave our pints to. We named him 'Taco' (don't ask why). He told us many interesting stories...about him killing someone a long time ago...quite an interesting man he was.

The last thing about that night was that my new friend walked me down to my hotel and when I woke up in the morning, which was 11 a.m. therefore, still technically considered as morning...I found my friend sleeping in my hotel staircase.

I woke him up, we had tea and he offered me to accompany him for the trek to Triund which was never a part of my plans. However, I did accompany him. All the while we talked a lot about life, culture, marriage, relationships, spirituality and what not. After that trek I bid him good bye but only after boarding my bus, I realised that, 'I don't know his name yet". May be he told me the night we met but I was too drunk to remember...or may be we never introduced each other with names.

As crazy and fulfilling as it was, this trip remains my most memorable one ever and always will be...no matter what!
