A Sullied Past

A sullied past
Greater, far greater
Weightier still;
Damning, accusing
Reproaching build;
No measures of guilt
Or sin, or turpitude
Be found, that can
Measure, equate
In kin.

A sullied past
To girls there be
Mind,
Only for girls there be
No forgiving
No mercy,
No pardon
Or clement plea. A sullied past
All burden, all affliction
Through time be gone
And yet, still yet
Be forever entwined.

Like scarlet robes
The letter scalds
A visible burning
Entrenched, a glow
Signaling, summoning
Declaring in glee
Behold this,
This,
The past sullied.
This,
The girl
With sullied past.
