I will wait for you

As you hold your breath and tighten all your senses

And follow the crowd as if on key.

As you nod your head and fall in a long endless line

To strap a life-stifling device and jump off a cliff in some unknown merriment.

As you pucker your face yet don the costume

To dive into that 12/24ft pool because you were told it’s a life skill.

As you scale some unseen and unending heights at the workplace

Because you never asked yourself if that’s where you wanted to be.

As you sway and twist your heart, body and soul into accepting

What those in your life tell you to do.

As you get into a time loop

And endlessly try to fit and fall in and conform to everything and everyone.

As you look up one day
