Wakeful & animated at this hour after midnight..
Treading softly & stealthily I step outside..
The verandah dimly illuminated by night bulb..
sometimes I sit in the armchair, sometimes I lean over the balustrade..
watching the night!
Dark & tranquil it is..
moon and clouds play hide and seek..
stars, though, are shimmering bright..
count us if you can, they invite..
The leaves on the trees, the birds in their nest and the doggies under the street lamps..all lay immobile!
suddenly, the whistle of the watchman penetrates the silence..for a while!
I look around to detect some signs of life..
and as a car whizzes past the street, I say to myself here might be another insomniac like me
