The year has just begun,

Lying before us like an empty book.

Waiting to be filled.

It looks like a decent book,

Though at times I feel it is overburdened.

Overburdened with the failures of the bygone year.

It’s like the entire universe had been in wait for it to arrive.

In this gamut of people, I am also just another one.

Waiting in toe with my pen, my favorite one.

Clinging it close to my heart, eagerly looking forward to fill it.

What shall I write, I sometimes wonder!

Life filled with stars, sparkles and rainbow.

Or may be more success story’s,

More laughter, yes, I think I am badly in need of it.

But then, reality dawns on me,

I think, I also need few essentials,

Oh! I need to quickly pen them down,

Before I forget.

An Umbrella for the day when it only pours.

A Mirror for the day when I need to be reminded, how important my smile is.

A Sunglass for the day when the Sun’s heat starts getting to me, but I still want to look into its eye.

A Pillow for the day I want to simply lay my head down.

A Picture of my family, my Parents, my Sister to remind me how precious my life is and for whom.

A Good pair of shoes for the day when my feet starts aching due to the road I have taken.

Yes! If I carry them along, I am sure I can make it to the end of this year too,

With less regret, more grit and fervor.

Pages can be filled with whatever we like,

As long as our inside is filled with determination to make it through anything.
