Raindrops
Raindrops fall
On leaves, clay pots, and glass panes.
Each one has a different resonance striking a distinct note
Each time they fall,
A new lake of hope regains within me
Each drop promises me of new life and,
I see fresh green foliage in my barren desert,
Raindrops fall,
Trickling into my mind, my sensibilities, my soul,
Just like you.
I see you in each one of these raindrops,
Their languid lingering playing with my fingers
Remind me of some blurry wet afternoons and,
Some almost forgotten moments, which resurface nimbly
In raindrops, again…
Raindrops fall,
Big and heavy,
Bringing deluge to cleanse the earth,
To wipe it clean of slime, slur, and slush
To wipe out all pains of remembering, forgiving, and re-thinking.
Raindrops fall,
As I lie awash
Becoming all of sixteen again, fresh, vibrant, pure, and untouched by sin…
