A blank canvas, a blank mind,

Devoid of images, colours hard to find.

Thoughts streaming in and out,

Darkness all around.

Shall I find hope?

I doubt.

A rainbow overhead and pastures beneath,

A cortege carrying a dead, covered with a beautiful wreath

A breathtaking visual versus stark reality,

Agony interspersed with beauty.

A naked child crying for food on the street,

A wedding procession with many a dancing feet.

Shades of life, either black or white,

Each incomplete without the other.

Like the warp and weft of a cloth woven tight,

One alternates another!

I dream of a world where all are happy,

Where no one is poor and no work petty.

Where sadness is a word unknown,

No tears, only seeds of smiles are sown!
