Growing up against all odds is an art. We all reach a certain stage in our life, where not many things appease us. Life seems stagnant at times, but what we fail to interpret in those circumstances is that life is throwing upon us an opportunity to bloom to the fullest of our potential. And when life is viewed with this perspective, everything seems light, life regains its essence and pace, beams without casting shadow and radiates positivity.

From time immemorial, many philosophers have said the same thing. But does it just end at that? Or is it not a responsibility that the Almighty has bestowed upon us. And where does this responsibility manifest itself? Of course in relationships. The responsibility of being the reason for somebody’s smile, shoulder to somebody’s pain; basically human to fellow beings.

This to a lot extent means being aware about everything around us, that is, awareness at the thought level. Initially the practice of awareness requires effort, but once it transcends into the subconscious, it becomes effortless. For instance, you effortlessly put a smile on people’s face.

The concept of awareness has been debated a zillion times. Is it just about recognising the difference between the good and the bad? No, it goes well beyond that. For instance, when we glance at a magnificent landscape, that is, being aware of its grandeur, we lose sight of ourselves; what follows is called ‘being in the moment’ or in other words, existential reality fades away our ego and leaves us spellbound. And at all other times, when we are not spellbound, we can guess who’s taking the lead; yes our EGO.

The ‘I’ which keeps lingering around, poking its nose in anything and everything, needs to end its activity, only then will we have a life of fulfilment and accomplishment so it can lead its purpose of nurturing a seed against all odds to become a tree of fruits to bear.
