Tangled in a web of negative emotions

that crops up in her,  she looks arid

with pain distilled from silence

as she signs away her maternal rights

under the contract

to relinquish the baby born out of her womb.

Maybe for pecuniary purposes,

still the cause of helping a frustrated couple

to fulfill their dreams of parentage being core

surrogacy makes her service revered.

Rejected by neighbours and friends

though the ovule does not belong to her.

Biological bond to the fetus she develops

yet unable to answer her own kids

why they are denied having a sibling.
