Radhika Maira Tabrez is the author of ‘In The Light Of Darkness’ - her debut novel, for which she won the Muse India – Satish Verma Young Writer Award (2016). In 2017 she was one of the winners of the Rising Stars India Award, presented by We Are The City to women who are trailblazers in their respective fields. In March 2018 she became the first Indian ever to speak at a TEDx event in Bangladesh. In November 2018 she was adjudged one of the '100 Most Inspiring Authors' in India, by Indian Awaz.
Radhika has also won many other national writing contests and her stories have been published in UnBound; Sankaarak, Defiant Dreams, When They Spoke and Mock, Stock and Quarrel and the upcoming The South Asian Literary Forum - Anthology.
Noted Theatre Actor and Director, Aamir Raza Husain has called her debut novel "A must read…". Bollywood actor Mr. Jaaved Jaaferi called it "a perfect story for an emotionally gripping movie".
Before her foray into writing Radhika was a Learning and Development professional with over twelve years of experience spanning ITeS, Travel, Telecom and BFSI sectors, during which she held many senior management positions. She is an MBA in Human Resources from SIBM, Pune; where she went on to become the first and till-date the only female to be elected as President of the Students’ Council.
She is now a writer, writing coach, freelance trainer, columnist and a motivational speaker. She is also the Editor of Incredible Women of India (a blogzine). Her second book, a part of a novella series, hits the bookstores in the summer of 2018.
Radhika is the founder of Roots and Wings - a skills enhancement program for children where she helps them nurture and develop their creative minds and expressions through theatre, music, dance and community building activities. She is also an active member of the Kalam Library Project and a volunteer with The Red Elephant Foundation.
She currently lives in Dhaka with her husband, six-year-old son, a red-eared slider turtle called Jack and three fishes called Eenie, Meenie, and Mynnie.
