Not Quite Grown Up, Not Quite a Kid: Almost Adulting Arrives
Teenage years are messy, exciting, confusing, and unforgettable—and Almost Adulting by Probal J. Bhattacharyya captures all of it with honesty, humour, and heart.
Step into stories where dreams feel bigger than reality, choices feel impossible, and every small rebellion feels like the end of the world (or the beginning of something new). Meet a young classical singer caught between discipline and applause, a cricket-loving boy dreaming of becoming the next Sachin Tendulkar, a child bold enough to question society’s expectations, and a young person finding the courage to stand up to a bully.

Journey through mysterious palace corridors, intense classroom debates, heartfelt family moments, and thrilling detective adventures. And then—travel to the year 2062, where flying vehicles, robot companions, and a world without smartphones feel strangely possible.
At its heart, Almost Adulting is about courage, choices, friendship, dreams, and discovering who you want to become.
Perfect for teenagers navigating their own ‘almost adult’ years—and for grown-ups who want to revisit the wonder, awkwardness, and chaos of their childhood through stories that feel both nostalgic and refreshingly relevant.
Because growing up may change with every generation, but the emotions? They remain timeless.
Turn the page. A new world awaits.

About the Author:
Probal J. Bhattacharyya has been telling stories since his school days—back then, driven more by fun than ambition. A long and demanding corporate career followed, leaving little room for writing. Retirement, however, brought with it both time and a renewed passion, allowing him to return to storytelling with seriousness and joy.
Writing for both adults and young readers, he finds a special delight in stories for young adults. They offer him a doorway back into classrooms and school corridors, cricket fields, small rebellions, and big dreams. Through these stories, he relives those formative years—this time with the freedom of imagination and a knowing smile.
While his tales are written for younger minds, he believes they often strike a chord with parents too, stirring memories of their own mischievous, unforgettable growing-up years.
