Readomania announces a collection of short stories by Kritika G Soin - Vanilla Loves and Dusky Lives, a dual shade short story collection.

From unnamed intimate relationships to déjà vu connections, from being in love with a memory to contemporary open marriages and profound same-sex relationships – ‘Vanilla loves’ are five heart- warming stories that celebrate outlandish relationships and urge appreciation for nonconformism.

Accounting for domestic violence, sexual voilence, human trafficking, inappropriate touching (bad touch) and sheer abuse of patriarchy – ‘Dusky Lives’ are five cringe-worthy stories that will get you angry. These stories will open your eyes a little wider and urge you to look under carpets of glitter.

A lot of our lives are spent on fighting the wrong stories. Let’s learn to accept the vanilla loves and only fight the dusky lives. Through this book, let’s learn to choose our battles better.

Kritika is a Chartered Accountant by education. She quit the corporate life in 2016, runs a garment and jewellery business and writes every day. She has also been providing financial mentorship to startups and women entrepreneurs.

A spirit on the hunt for experiences and growth, Kritika began writing from lucid passion. Her first novel, Mirror soul, is a spiritual romance based on the exotic concept of twin flames. It is a dedication to the souls that spend their lives yearning for their other halves. Her second novel – Vanilla loves and Dusky lives – is a collection of ten fables – five of which are unconventional love stories and five of which are immoral, unethical societal stories. A poem of hers, “Worthy of my Home”, from her collection “Water and I”, is being published in the October 2023 launch of The Undiscovered Journal.

She survives on cocoa and green tea, and thrives on affection. She is progressive and reformative. Spiritual, animal loving, humanitarian at heart, she hopes that she can grow to be worthy of creating impact.
