Sarvamitra incorporates seemingly unconnected events into her stories to create a network that is reminiscent of our own real lives. She started off with a murder mystery novella but later found she enjoyed writing for children. Missy’s Adventures, a children's whodunit, comprising 15 short mysteries, was released in September 2023. She won the special jury award for her story, ‘Amma, I Want to Become an Auto Driver’, in a nation-wide competition conducted by Children’s Book Trust, New Delhi. Her stories appear regularly in the magazine Champak—a favourite among children. Two of her short story collections—Story Treats–1 & 2—were published recently. At the risk of sounding clichéd, she says, “I enjoy a good mystery with a hot cuppa by the side, and of course, a heavy downpour to get the setting right.”
