Readomania is delighted to announce a new title, Girl of Destiny, the next book from celebrated author, Shubira Prasad. The book will be released within a month.

Shubira Prasad is an educationist, an astrologer and a writer, not necessarily in that order. She has done her graduation in Psychology Honors and post-graduation in English literature. She has been in education for more than twenty-one years. She has been Principal of two schools, one of an Air Force in Punjab and another of a DAV school in Uttar Pradesh. She has been practicing astrology for more than two decades. She is married to an Air Force officer, and they have two sons. They stay in the NCR region. Being in the Air Force she has travelled and stayed in all the parts of the country. Travelling is her passion. She and her husband have travelled to more than half of the world too.

Shubira has been writing for a long time. She has written a trilogy of the war between human beings and demons who survived in the great war of Ramayana. This trilogy is not an interpretation of the Ramayan or other Hindu epics, but it takes its cue from the Ramayan. It is based on the present century. She has also written a romance. A children’s book and another book on contemporary literature are in the publishing stage.

Beginning in the 1950s and spanning across four decades, Girl of Destiny is a compelling story of life choices, their repercussions and the role of fate. Shama, blessed with angelic beauty, is doted upon by her parents. But fate plays a cruel game when her mother dies when she’s just four. Her father remarries, but he too, soon passes away. She now lives with her stepmother Shanti, who is married again to a widower who has two sons. In the new foster family, everybody loves Shama and she is thoroughly spoiled, yet, she has nobody to call her own. A headstrong Shama grows up making her own choices and abiding by them, right or wrong. Everyone loves Shama but she is unlucky when it comes to love. A taboo relationship with a reluctant man, a marriage of compromise, a hasty divorce, a remarriage, abandonment—Shama’s life is nothing short of a roller coaster.
